Complete Walgreens Newb

I tried couponing at Walgreens for the first time today. Previously I’ve only done Ibotta deals, but I tried dabbling in Walgreens cash. I planned out my deal on the app and it showed that my estimated Walgreens cash was supposed to be $14.xx. I couldn’t complete my transaction as some things were out of stock at my store, so I was just using it as a tool to figure out my deal. I went in store to complete my transaction and instead of getting Walgreens cash, I got a bunch of “spend x amount in a transaction and earn x amount of Walgreens cash”.

If I had checked out online for pickup, would this have gone differently? Basically, I have to do several more transactions using those “coupons” in order to get the Walgreens cash I thought I was already getting.
