Newbie Couponing @ DG

Hey everyone,

Today, I decided to start couponing and I picked the Dollar General since it's beginner friendly. I made a budget, and followed some couponers examples on Instagram for Saturday scenarios.

But at the end, I failed.

Here's what I tried to get: -2 pack of the 6 ct Scott TP ($3.25 Each) -1 pack of the 12 ct Scott TP ($5) -1 pack of the 6 ct Scott Paper towels ($6) -2 containers of Tresemme Shampoos ($6 each)

Total: $29.50 with no coupons

Digital Coupons used: -Save $5/25 on Saturday -Save $1 on Scott toilet paper 6 ct or larger -Save $3 when you spend $16 on Scott -Save $5 when you buy Two tresemme shampoo/conditioner

Total: $14 of digital coupons

I went up to the registered, got my items scanned (made sure the coupons were attached), and entered my phone number. But the total came out to be $21.33. I thought maybe the cashier didn't enter the $5/25, but they did.

So, I tried different scenarios but again like the 1st scenario--Nothing worked out. After my 4th attempt, I left empty handed and so embarrassed.

What did I do wrong? Do I need to bring paper coupons and use those instead of the digital ones? How can I improve?
