Catalina return at Meijer
Several weeks ago, I did a Huggies deal, which included a $10 mPerks, but was also supposed to generate a $10 Catalina coupon. It didn't. However, the line at Customer Service was long, and I was in a time crunch, so I figured I would contact CS by phone and take care of it that way.
Meijer CS insisted it had to be taken care of in-store. I went back and forth with them, because I was not going to be able to be in the area for a while, so handling it remotely would have been helpful but no dice. But, they said they had communicated with the store, and they would be able to help me when I go in. I had my doubts and told them so.
Surely enough, my doubts were right. The desk person said I could not use the mPerks and get the Catalina coupon. Then, she called for backup, who said the same thing. I knew this to be untrue, as I knew of several people who had done the same promotion and received the Catalina. But, there was no reasoning with them.
Meijer had the same Huggies deal going on, so I just did it again yesterday, and sure enough the mPerks came off, and I received the Catalina. So....obviously the people at the desk didn't know what they were talking about. But, no matter. I figured I would just return the original wipes and then I would be even. All's well that ends well, I guess.
Except, I noticed on the coupon, it says if items are returned the Catalina amount will be deducted from the return. Has anyone ever actually experienced this. I only ask, because I wonder if that will happen when I return the original items, even though I never got the Catalina, if it will trigger an adjustment of the return.
What a mess.
