CVS coupon policy change!

Just a heads up that corporate is changing the coupon policy at CVS. The new policy officially goes into effect on September 1st, but many stores have implemented it already or are implementing it next week.

If you're unsure as to what your store is doing/if they already have the new policy in place, just ask.

Under the new corporate policy -

  1. The system will not allow for the use of expired extrabucks rewards

  2. The system will not allow for the use of expired store coupons, whether they be emailed coupons, mailed coupons, or coupons from the "red coupon machine".

  3. The system will not allow for the use of expired manufacturer coupons

  4. The system will not allow for employees to override 1-3 in any way.

This policy has always been up to the discretion of individual stores/management. For example, while my store has always happily accepted expired cvs coupons or extrabucks within two weeks of the original expiration date, they do not accept expired manufacturer coupons. Alternatively, I have friends whose stores will not accept any type of expired coupon, store coupon or not.

However, this policy change will effect EVERY STORE.
