Things you will need:

• A store card from the place you shop from the most (like Safeway or King Soupers)

• A laptop or desktop computer

• A good printer. I prefer LaserJet (black and white only)

• An internet browser. I prefer Firefox to IE, but some like Chrome.

• Java plugins for your browser (or whatever plugin needed to print the coupon)

NOTE: Each website of the big 5 has their own little app you have to use to print off coupons. Most sites will let you print off each one twice. Copying coupons is illegal.

Optional Tools Of The Trade: A guillotine paper cutter, a zipper binder with pocketed sleeves for sorting, a small calculator, lots of printer paper, a subscription to the local newspaper for Sundays at a minimum, a Facebook profile for getting Facebook coupons, a paypal account (for the Iphone apps), and a spare cupboard and deep freezer for all the extra food you are about to have.

Applications: Apps if you have an Ipad 2 or later or IPhone w/ camera: (and the reason for that paypal account)

o Ibotta

o Saving star

o Some sort of calculator app

There are many comprehensive coupon sites. Here are some:

http://ift.tt/QTKaP3 used to be a great site, but now is a bit convoluted.

http://ift.tt/18sejCR requires you to install a toolbar and sign up.

Lastly, check your local stores for deals and things such as:

• Safeway’s 5 Dollar Fridays (a good time to get soda’s and K-Cups)

• Albertsons Military Discount Day

• Walgreens Military Discount Day

• Safeway’s Double Coupon Policy

• Store Websites. Safeway has a Just for U Coupon Site, plus other digital coupons you can upload.

• Lack of State Taxes vs. Commissary Fees. Some states do not have a tax on groceries. Most commissaries have a fee per item. Don’t forget to factor in the Gas you would use.

NOTE: This is slightly geared towards military spouses living @ Fort Carson.
